The Occupants

Once you've determined that the land has excellent Feng Shui and that the house is free of Sha Qi or negative energy (or at least you know where they are and that they are in the right place) you now have to make sure that the house is orientated in your favor. There are 8 types of houses. These 8 types of houses are further grouped into two groups: East House and West House. A house must be matched with the occupants based on their Gua Number. For people belonging to the East Group,  they must reside in a Li, Chen, Sun or Kan house. For people belonging to the West Group they must reside in a Chien, Dui, Gen or Kun house. Find your Gua number in the chart below to tap into your auspicious directions. Note that items in black indicates negative directions and must be avoided. If you don't know your Gua Number, refer to the Gua Number and Year Pillar table.

In these cases, use the Annual Flying Star chart. Also, remember that direction is more important than location--use one of your positive direction as a bedroom or study or sit facing one of your four positive directions are you can tap into the positive energy in your home.
