LUO-SHU TRAIL

There are many tools or apps available to get an instant chart by simply inputing data into fields. However, I believe it's crucial for anyone practicing Feng Shui to have the knowledge of how the stars are flown.

To plot the Flying Stars chart, start  by drawing a 3 x 3 square grid. Starting from the CENTER, your first stop should be NW, followed by W, then NE, S, N, SW, E, and SE.

You can practice flying the stars until you commit the Luo Shu trail to memory. You can also use your fingers to locate the stars. Open the palm of your hand and look at your four fingers. You will see a 3x3 square grid. Use your thumb to fly the stars.

Yin and Yang are important concepts to be observed as well. There are two manners in which the stars will move: Ying or Yang. If the number in the center is #5, the next number should be #6. This is the Yang path. When the stars follow a Yin path, the numbers move in reducing manner (e.g., 5, 4, 3, etc.).

Even Numbers: Earth Yin (-); Heaven Yang (+); Man Yan (+)

Odd Numbers: Earth Yang (+); Heaven Yin (-); Man Yin (-)

All the Black sectors are YIN and White sectors are Yang on the 24 Mountain ring.
