Decoding Your Bazi Chart
To analyze your Ba Zi chart, you need to begin with the Day Master. The reference point for any Ba Zi chart is always the Day Master or the Self Element. The first step is to determine the strength of the Day Master by looking at the Earthly Branch found in the Month Pillar--identify the SEASON of your birth. The chart below, for instance, shows a Rat, Yang Water. This means that this person was born in December (Winter). This individual's Day Master is Jia (Yang Wood). This means that the Day Master is Strong. Wood born in Winter = Strong Day Master. Had this person been born in the Spring, her Day Master would be considered to be born "timely and prosperous."
